Compelled Riders: Why It’s Time To Set Workers Free

Next week, the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in Janus v. AFSCME, a case challenging the constitutionality of compelled union fees. This will be the fourth time since 2012 that the Supreme Court has had the opportunity to decide whether or not states can compel non-union workers to fund union activities. Janus is widely expected to be the case that finally puts that question to rest.
