Smith v. University of Washington Law School

392 F.3d 367 (9th Cir. 2004).


Issues: Civil Rights; Equal Protection.

 

Action: Challenged racial preferences in student admissions at University of Washington Law School.

 

Status: Loss. District court ruled that UW's admissions system was narrowly tailored. Circuit court upheld the district court ruling. U.S. Supreme Court denied petition for a writ of certiorari on May 29, 2001.
